Umeå

A light-filled, painter’s paradise, Umeå is a large, second-floor room with windows affording a glimpse of Lake Memphremagog through the trees and over the rooftops.

It is named for Umeå, a university city in northern Sweden nicknamed “City of Birches,” since this species was planted after a devastating fire (birches are said to be fire resistant.) We have planted three river birches in the garden at Little Gnesta.

You’ll sleep “Scandinavian” with a duvet-covered comforter (no top sheet needed) on a  queen-size Carpe Diem bed.  A seating area with Scandinavian-style chairs adds to your comfort.

Ensuite bathroom with shower, hair dryer, locally made Mountain Country Soaps and Jon Somes shampoo/conditioner, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, cable TV with DVD player and access to Roku channels including Netflix online. $125 per night.

RESERVATION/CANCELLATION POLICY

To confirm your reservation, we will charge your credit card for the first night of your stay. You may cancel this reservation up to 14 days before your stay, with a $25 processing fee. If you cancel within 14 days of your scheduled stay, there is no refund unless we are able to book the room to someone else.

If you wish to pay with cash, you may send a check for the amount of the first night’s stay. If you cancel up to 14 days of your scheduled stay, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within 14 days, there is no refund unless we are able to book the room to someone else.
